Seth Godin: International Bestseller

Seth Godin is a best-selling author, successful internet marketing expert, and leading internet blogger. Millions have read his books and thousands flock to his blog daily to read his advice in their pursuit of marketing in the ever-changing, ever-evolving brave new world of consumerism. His philosophies range from the conservative and tried-and-true values of traditional marketing and consumer psychology to innovative techniques that are regarded as cutting edge. His books are read and sold in dozens of countries around the world and he has been heralded as one of the most sought-after public speakers in the industry.

Godin’s new book, "The Dip" is his tenth marketing book with seven of the first nine books going on to become international bestsellers; already it appears as though "The Dip" will join the ranks of those elite seven.

Like his other efforts, seth Godin’s "The Dip" is a book that makes an attempt to help the reader more effectively establish whether their current professional marketing practices are really as effectual as they may think they are. "The Dip" takes what may be considered a surprising stance on the oft-shunned act of quitting a project when it ceases to be exciting and perhaps, worthwhile. Godin cites the old quote, "Quitters never win and winners never quit" and is quick to point out that this line of thinking is entirely wrong. His line of reasoning seems to be on track: why waste time on an endeavor that is showing absolutely no sign of a profitable return? Though this may seem like common sense, Seth’s book goes on to teach the reader ways in which to recognize when a particular project has ceased to exist as a worthwhile venture and is just dead weight, wasting precious time and resources that can be devoted to other, more meaningful and profitable efforts.

Seth has coupled the release of his book with a new blog, a technique he has utilised successfully at marketing previous books. The Dip Blog (http://sethgodin.typepad.com/the_dip/) covers not only the Book Tour but also related interviews, case studies and news related to the Dip book launch and "The Dip Methodology" put into practice. The book will be released as a hardback, an Audible.com download, and a purchasable, abridged compact disc.

  1. Is Your Business Idea any Good?
Most people start a business based on an idea. In some cases this idea is an improvement to an existing idea, in others it’s a carbon copy of a tried and tested idea and in fewer still the idea is brand new and innovative. If you’re idea is to take a tried and tested concept and replicate it in a new area (geographical of industrial) then your task is easier than the other two options but still fraught with pitfalls.
