Registerfly in Turmoil |
|
This week saw the continuation of the ongoing saga of the collapse of domain name registrar RegisterFly. RegisterFly first appeared in the headlines a little over two weeks ago when droves of new users reported problems accessing their accounts. Since that time an awful lot of dirty laundry has been aired thanks to the bitter 'open-warfare' being conducted by it's founders John Naruszewicz and Kevin Medina.
This week John Naruszewicz filed for compensatory damages against former RegisterFly CEO Kevin Medina on grounds of gross emezzlement. Naruszewicz alleges that Medina has been using funds from RegisterFly to fund his lifestyle, spending company money on such things as Credit Card repayments, liposuction and even male escort services.
Although the decline of RegisterFly spells troubles for thousands of domain name owners, this now legal spat does offer a fascinating glimpse inside the workings on one of America's most successful domain name registrars.
