HSBC Launches Search for Britain's Best New Business

The HSBC Bank have launched their seventh annual search for the UK's most promising new start-up business and the entrepreneurs behind them.

This national award is presented in conjunction with the Daily Mail and Sky Media and supported by the UK government. This year also sees additional financial support for the winner of this prestigious award from Search Engine Marketers Intuit and Google UK.

Other enhancements for the 2007 awards include a much higher prize for the winner, a staggering £100,000 plus five regional heats that will now generate and additional 50 regional winners (who will split a smaller prize fund). The 2007 award ceremony will also celebrate a new Green award for the start-up who puts issues of environmental impact at the top of their business agenda.

The judges of the HSBC Award aren't just looking for the business with the biggest bottom line or the fastest rate of growth, issues such as environmental impact, uniqueness, social awareness and management style will also be considered, ensuring that the 2007 winners really do have the business X factor!

Most people start a business based on an idea. If you’re idea is to take a tried and tested concept and replicate it in a new area (geographical of industrial) then your task is easier than the other two options but still fraught with pitfalls.
