Sir Allen Sugar comes back to drive 16 more would-be apprentices to their wit's end in a strategic business battle to the finish. The ultimate prize, as always, is a six-figure salary along with the chance to work with Sir Allen himself.
In the first episode, Sir Allen gave the contestants the simple task of selling coffee on the streets of London while participating on opposing teams, hastily named Eclipse and Stealth.
Jadine, a 27 year old financial advisor from Middlesex led the men's team, Eclipse whilst Andy, a 26 year old car sales manager from Scotland led the women on team Stealth.
Jadine and the men of Eclipse made a valiant victory over Stealth, selling 55 coffees to Stealth's 11. Andy and the ladies of Stealth just couldn't pull it together during the challenge suffering from the usual mishaps such as over ordering stock, choosing locations with poor foot-fall and much miscommunication.
The Apprentice is great fodder for small businesses as it shows that even the so-called ‘top business minds of the country' (each potential apprentice fought off over 10,000 other applicants to earn their place) can come a cropper and suffer from the same mistakes that each and every one of us can make.
The apprentice has only aired two shows thus far but already three contestants have been fired by the bearded-business man, Sir Allen.
